AWARD WINNING FURNITURE & LIGHTING PRACTICE, LIQUI CONTRACTS BECOME FX AWARD FINALISTS
Inspiration behind the name of the chair?
The Moore chair takes its name from the renowned astrologer; whose rather eccentric appearance was further exaggerated by his use of a monocle.
Background about the production/sustainability aspect?
The curved plywood part of the chair is made at a sawmill in the heart of a European FSC forest, where trees go in one end and the formed plywood seat comes out the other, making it a very efficient and sustainable process. The bespoke steel wire frames are made here in Britain where we put the components together by hand. The seat is the only part which is not made in the UK as it was more sustainable to source from the forest itself rather than in the UK.
The gap it fills in the market?
The chair is a high-end piece but without the designer price tag attached to it. It’s an iconic looking product which is made for commercial use and sold at contract price.
Where it can be used?
The bent plywood chair is made with coffee shops and cafés in mind, but would also be suitable for a contemporary office. Available in a range of bespoke finishes and veneers, it can be adapted to fit with the style of your commercial interior.
